It can't go back to a state of not having been fucked with by someone else. That's literally impossible.

To give you an analogy, it would be like giving up your car because some guy changed the lightbulbs in your headlights. That is literally reversible.

And if the patina is now shine? and the scratches are now filled with wood glue under a glued on pick guard? and the peg that came off that old banjo they found in the middle of a gig 20 years ago has been replaced with a brand new set. And the notch on the edging where steve's girlfriend slammed a nazi in the face at the same party where sabrina fucked that idiot from the ska band and got pregnant?

You are woefully unimaginative if you think everything can be reversed.

You watched too many tik toks and evidently never had a guitar looked by a tech: 200$ is gonna get you at best a couple hours of work and a new set of strings.
Anything else is just an articulate fantasy to hide the fact you got rage baited by a 4chan post like a noob.

I have never watched a tiktok. And you have no idea what the quality of the luthier in question was so your guardrails around pricing are worthless.

Regardless. My point stands. And apparently went over your head. Let's try again with fewer words:

"Yes, there are things that can be done to a guitar that you can not reverse."

    That's it. That's all.

    cheers

Not really the same thing at all as my car cost $1000s of dollars and is a necessity for making a living. Although I would still be POed if someone took it to a shop without my consent as I am more than capable of changing the bulbs myself and taking it to a shop risks having the FNG screw something up. Also unlikely they’re gonna return the old bulb to you in case you want to put it back. So no, it’s not reversible.

A guitar I found in the trash is very different. It cost me nothing but the time and effort I put into fixing it up. Time and effort that has now been nullified by having a professional redo it. It’s not my effort that brought this thing back from being garbage anymore, it’s this other guy that got paid to take over my work.
