I'll be making an effortpost on my blog soon-ish about it, before promptly losing interest in it forever.
I think there should be more distinction. One hyperfixation isn't exactly like all the others. I've picked up one or two that have stuck with me throughout the years.
Apart from that it's usually a period of focus on a certain medium/series/... which can get pretty intense but not exactly the same level as the "true" hyperfixations.
