Having paid to have my eyebrows waxed a few times I really enjoy the effect but it’s so expensive I can’t keep up with it.

The effect isn’t super pronounced but when wearing a full face of makeup the extra polish of the brows adds to the whole so I set out to learn how to do it myself.

I decided to do plucking and shaping with tweezers and scissors so I could go slowly and minimize mistakes.

I started by watching this random YouTube video on the subject: https://youtu.be/iWCV851MnZ8?is=pgKgG5iNXHxpU5YG very helpful and to the point!

Tools assembled: tiny scissors, good tweezers and I just learned this little spiral brush is called a spoolie.

Here’s what I’m starting with, decent overall shape but a bit caterpillary.

After following the steps in the video, plucking the edges and then brushing and trimming the excess I got it to look more polished. I didn’t end up doing the shaving part from the video.

I love it!

The overall effect is subtle - the one on the left (your left) is trimmed but the right is not yet. I’m very happy with how it’s turned out.  Total time spent was about 20 minutes (on the one side) and I already owned the tools but they cost in total less than a single wax would have at my beautician.

I would recommend giving this a try to anyone unsatisfied with the state of their brows it was really not as difficult as I had feared!

Now to just get the other side to match 😉

update: very happy with this it looks better than my last waxing!

Why do we need a third transfem comm? In the end it does not matter super much, because one can just join all three, but I do find it a bit odd that this one appeared.

Also, it says "Transfemmes only, if you are not MTF your post or comment will be removed."

How do you actually define "Transfemme"? "MTF" is kind of clear, but if you identify as something else than transfemme but are "mtf", are you not allowed to comment here?

I am a little worried about the idea of gatekeeping who is "trans enough" to post in this comm. Also, transmascs can have a lot of useful input to give us. Why prohibit them from even commenting?

And then, of course, the term "mtf" is kind of loaded and borderline transmedicalist. At least I have never been male, even if for a long time I thought I was.

For over 2 years now every time I run out of foundation I try a new brand hoping to find one that’s a good value. The Lady Gaga I started with is lovely but prohibitively priced. The new one I have just started is from Maybelline and I’m in love. Drugstore priced -even cheaper than BB fresh but it goes on very well, blends easily and evenly and holds all day when paired with primer and setting spray!

If you have a recommendation for the next one I would love to hear it!
