To charge a 600whr ebike battery to full would take my 50w panel 12hrs. Or around 3-5 miles of range added per hour of sunlight.

The 110w trailer adds around 10 miles of range per hour. Plus it has 800whr of extra storage in the solar generator.

If it rains I just don't use the solar hookup. Not much sun anyway. This thing has been through a midwest tornado and done pretty well. Just in case there's any issue I put a 5amp fuse on the line going to the ebike battery. Figured I'd rather loose a 10c fuse than a 400$ battery.

The government is also consulting on whether local leaders should have extra powers, including setting fees and requirements for operators to share data to improve enforcement and journey planning.

I think it should still be illegal, but a lesser penalty than driving a car drunk.

Maybe it should be based on the weight of the vehicle you're operating; a drunk driver of a Ferd F-teenthousand is much more dangerous than a drunk bicycle rider.

Neat! I don't think the article mentions energy density. They do have numbers based on current, 175.5 mAh/g and 120 mAh/g, and a voltage of 1.1 V. If I'm mathing the correct numbers:

    175.5mAh/g × 1.1V × 1W/1000mW × 1000g/1kg = 193.05 Wh/kg

Wikipedia says lithium ion is 160-300 Wh/kg, so not too bad!

The other end of the range, 120 mAh/g works out to 132 Wh/kg

We have something similar for lorry drivers in at least some English cities, called "changing places". I don't remember if all licensed lorry drivers have to do it yet, or only those needing a higher qualification like FORS.

I once wheeled my bike through a store in my carbon road shoes. Clop clop clop.

Got many looks but nobody said anything. I'm sure they would if it were common practice because our tires track so much dirt in.

I feel like these things should be worded better. More like here’s the candidates who support AB or C. Saying here’s who you should vote for is persuasive language and should not be pushed in a fair society.

Disclaimer this does not mean I support facists. It’s just a ‘telling people vote for #’ discourages critical thinking and causes bigger issues.

You’re right, the community is a cue (the graphic is not, it’s a generic city drawing). But it’s not like there is a word limit on the flyer or the post. What is the upside of not including a few words about what this is? “Safety” has been used as a dog whistle and had been the justification of some of the worst things done by the worst governments, including the recent terror by ICE.
And no, I am not going to vote based on a drawing of roads and skyscrapers, this is why this flyer is ineffective. but I may be biased: I am preferring words for communication (that is why I am on lemmy and not insta or YouTube). I don’t know why you think that a post telling what it is about is spoon feeding- it is literally the purpose of making a post. Why would you follow links just to see what is behind them? I don’t open spam envelopes from my mailbox just to find out what great deals may be inside.

I mean, first off, I hope you're not voting based off of a graphic without clicking a link to read more.

Second, context clues should give you the answer. This was posted to micromobility, it has public transit in the graphic design, along with a bunch of symbols for transit and micromobility. You didn't really need to click the link to figure that out, but again, if your concern is what it means by safer streets, you could've clicked the link.

What's next? People spoon-feeding it to you because you didn't want to click a link to find out what it meant and assumed the worst?

WTF is up with those sites that write entire articles about reddit posts? Seriously that is some bottom of the barrel feeding, its just writing an article about what a random person already wrote better. They then add some shit AI images, and its something I am supposed to lose time over reading? Fuck that vomit, can that source site be banned, please?

Safer streets? What are safer streets? A post like this should reveal what policies they support. Safer streets are nice, who wouldn’t want that? Are you pushing for more bike lanes or arresting more black people? It really does matter which one.
And no, a link doesn’t replace telling what is this supposed to support. I’m not going to click a campaign link just to find out the topic.
What’s next? Click here if you’d like more money?
