I ended up not having enough of the right white to fill in the snow so its going to just be the fabric as the pattern intended.

I did however have enough for the animals to have white stitches instead of just the fabric.

I've started doing the backstitch so well see how long that ends up taking.

Just one or two more colors left in this section then I can finish the feet and it's done! I'm hoping I will complete it by next week!

And the October part is done with loooots of time to spare.

And as my dice were busy playing Partfinder I had to "cheat" and make a small start on the November part. But I'm looking forward to see what's next in my rotation tomorrow.

Pattern: Dimensions 8751

I've been working on this since around March and hopefully I'll have it done by Christmas.

I have a bit more stitching to finish off in the bottom left, before I have to sort out how to do the name. Then there is some embroidery to add a few features before the pattern is done.

Almost all the white is just the backing, but I have a couple of different whites from a previous project that I'm thinking to use to fill in the snow.

What is better than a Birthday Start? A Birthday Finish! And what's even better? A Birthday Start and Finish!

(And then we don't talk about the other 5 parts. Different fabric piece = different project 🤣)

WIP Wednesday (feddit.dk)

There was some interest on this piece, so I was a bit sad that I wouldn't have it to show this week, But lo and behold, after 700 stitches on "here for the cats" from the Emma Congdon "Cross stitch with Catitude" book

My dice wanted me back to mount Fuji today! I was only supposed to do 460 stitches, but I need about 300 more to reach the halfway point, so I'll probably do that before moving on... after I correct the mistake I noticed...

After some delay I'm back to working on The Megazord!

WIP Wednesday (feddit.dk)

I won't have any stitch time tomorrow, so it might as well post my WIP Wednesday now.

I didn't have as much stitching time as usual, and worked mostly in the confetti heavy botton, so not as much progress as I hoped, but that's just life :)

Climbing goat designs just announced their stitch-along for next year https://www.climbinggoat.co.uk/products/periodic-table

And I'm so on board and was going to order her pack with fabric, but the new horrible EU rules makes it almost impossible for small UK businesses to export to EU.

And UK stores are the only ones I know of where you can get interesting fabrics.

Do you guys recommend any good EU fabric stores that ship to other EU countries?

I'm mostly into evenweave but don't mind linen and aida.

Every single pattern has instructions on how to backstitch the copyright information at the bottom of the finished piece lol

My 2nd Patch (lemmy.world)

A lot learned from my first patch, a lot to learn still. My sister literally told me that using all 6 strands like my tutorial told me is rather unusual.

I don't think I have shown this to you guys before.

It's a kit some friends bought in Japan on their latest trip.

I my "normal" is 16 count with 2 strands so whatever big count this is, and 6 strands is quite a different experience, but it is also fun to try different things.

A finish! (feddit.dk)

I just finished my Enchanting unicorn from the Fantasy Cross-Stitch book from Needlelot designs!

I had an airplane flight yesterday, so I did 60% of this on the flight, finished this morning!

Caught up! (feddit.dk)

Only a day late with the September part of last year's stitch a long from Cloudsfactory!

But the October part is two authors, so let's see if my rotation lets me get it done in time.

SAL sunday (feddit.dk)

Finally got around to finishing the august part of last year's Stitch-a-long from cloudsfactory!

So now I have 10 days left to do the September part, if I don't want to be more than a year behind.

But of course I made a new start today instead of doing that, or give my unicorn a leg.

20

This time not sewn on my jacket cause I'm making it for someone else. Not as close to the reference as I would like but still happy with it

21

Only got a leg and tail left for the unicorn to be complete!

And then some flowers to the right, before the project is complete!

Pattern is from the needlelot book.

WIP Wednesday (feddit.dk)

... okay it is actually a FO and not a WIP, but let's pretend as I have nothing else to show this week.

The last lady of the climbing goat SAL "Her Science Her Story", was Marie Curie, the first woman to win a nobel prize and the first person to win twice. Her work gave us great knowledge about radioactivity, which she coined the name of, and she found two new chemical elemets, radium and polonium.

What are all you lovely stitchers working on?

SAL Saturday (feddit.dk)

As I got time to stitch again I better get caught up with this SAL from Climbing Goat Designs that ended a few weeks ago.

So yesterday i finished Mary Anning, a self-taught expert in fossiles.

So I only have Marie Curie left to finish it!

WIP Wednesday (feddit.dk)

After about a month with minimal stitching, I FINALLY had time and an arm that allowed for stitching, so time to move the snap!

From the Needlelot book

I had it finished for a while, but took me a long while to rinse it and iron it.
I was planning on putting it into a picture frame, but I ran out of frames.
Learnt some stuff along the way - probably trained eyes can spot them.
I'm not unhappy with it, I just don't really like the pattern and the non-existent instructions. I do not recommend this kit.
