I don't think you understand the problem.

I will never put myself in a situation again where I have to explain that it’s not weird to anyone again, same for that URL.

To some people, anubis is weird, there is no changing that. It does the job, the mascot can be changed by paying, but the project itself is weird to some people. Such person is asking, is there an alternative. You cannot just say "push back that is not weird".

I'd say more like coffee. If you drink it every day, you are addicted and legit cannot work without it. But it does keep you focused when in a crunch. As for LLMs, they does have their uses, but they do not produce quality software.

dousing them with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, acetic acid, salt, and acrylic paint

Is there a civil engineer here who would know what degree of damage will this cause?

Well, these are some kind of lightweight container, no? But without isolating network, or /etc, /proc, /usr, /var or dbus.

I do agree that linux needs a notion of an "app" (isolated, with access only to its config and files you give it, and a small, well-designed set of APIs for interacting with the system). For coding agents, I think a better answer are development containers, because that would be needed to prevent npm/cargo/python build scripts from causing harm anyway.
