Does anyone know more about the private foundation publishing this research, Safeguard Defenders? Where do they get the bulk of their funding from, and have any orgs done analysis on the quality of their reporting?

Based on my reading it seems plausibly legitimate. The precursor organisation China Action seems to have been pretty paragon, and the founder's previous work in gender equality curbs my suspicions of it being a right-wing anti-china grift.

The fact that the CCP doesn't like them is obviously true, but that could go either way for their work being factual or fabricated.

I went last weekend, I have to say it was honestly disappointing. Very impactful, but based on all of the headlines about it I was expecting it to be a bit more of an installation than just a few walls on the second-to-last level. Probably no more than six paragraphs of text, a handful of objects and a TV screen with a few looping interviews. There was quite a crowd though.

It also only mentioned the word genocide once in its entirety, that the ICC was investigating claims of genocide presently.

I recognize the immense effort and how meaningful this exhibit being made is, but, fuck. The fact that it faced so much pushback and has been mired in all this controversy is equal parts mind-boggling and infuriating.
