We've already determined the state: They're dead
A big reason why everything is made in China is because the Chinese government subsidizes the cost of shipping.
Local governments in China literally reimburse local businesses 20-50% of air freight costs.
The national Chinese government subsidizes ocean freight and commercial shipbuilding to the tune of 50%.
They also subsidize a zillion other things, but the bottom line is that by using taxes to pay for their postal/shipping services, they're easily able to out-compete Western nations/businesses in overall product costs.
Imagine if the US was still paying for USPS through taxes—how much that would save businesses in the US and keep them competitive internationally.
They're so "fatigued" from Fox News they're dying. I mean this literally!
The average age of Fox News viewers is 69. Probably higher now (statistic is dated I think) and the average age of Cable News viewers overall is 70.
Every minute that goes by, a few more Fox News viewers bite the dust and they're not being replaced.
Young Nazis prefer podcasts.
Yes! Pro-tip: If you see an aeron chair on the side of the road for trash pickup, take it!
99% of the time, when people throw out office chairs it's because the gas cylinder failed (gets stuck down). A new cylinder is only $20!
Just be prepared to whack TF out of that old one to get it out, haha. They can be really stuck in there after 5-10 years of people sitting on the chair.
Don't be afraid to use a huge ass plumbing wrench and scratch TF out of the old one 👍
It won't be a flood into the market. The hardware makers are stuck in their contracts and I'm sure they'd much rather sell those GPUs/RAM on the open market since it's worth a lot more now than when the contract was signed.
It'll change nothing for about six months, then we'd see some temporary price drops until non-AI business start buying them up to do local inference.
They're using a math technique similar to how audio fingerprinting (e.g. can identify a song from someone humming it) works. Also, I could be wrong but it might actually be a clever way to use the built-in gesture recognition features of some of the newer wifi 7 chipsets (yeah, they have that).
They're not using it to pick up audio (obviously), but the way the math works would be similar: When someone moves their hand this way, that's a 90% match for the letter A. That sort of thing. So when you capture a series of movements, you can associate that with the person typing a specific word.
What I'd like to know is how specific this technique is to the keyboard/person in question. As in, if it was trained on the researchers/volunteers and thus only works on the researchers/volunteers.
I suspect that it's likely got the same problem as keyboard audio fingerprinting tech: It only works if you train it ahead of time for that user on that specific keyboard.
Instead of exposing them to the Internet, they could've been VPNing into the coolest network ever!
"Gaming chairs" are cheap garbage. Just throw it away and buy a proper, ergonomic chair.
Bonus: If it's one of the mesh types, there's barely anything to absorb the smell of your shitty ass!
...and get a bidet already! Pro tip: The type of bidet that is integrated into the seat is vastly superior to the type that slips under the seat.
He'd be better off working at a library 🤷♀️
The realism is uncanny!
What a chafing comment!
