They used AI to make a special calculator to multiply four numbers together, so it absolutely tracks.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna go full-circle and start a new business venture selling TI-83s to AI bros on ebay as “tensor processing units”.
Kinda think they’re just a kid with intermediate english and too much time on their hands
Y’know, I hadn’t actually considered that possibility, but you might well be on the money there. Thanks for the charitable lens.
Reolink is easy to DIY, has sane privacy policies if you want to use their web services, and they support self-hosting your own streaming + recordings if you don’t.
They’re the usual rec in these threads, and with good reason.
They “moderate” AskScience and AskHistorians while having absolutely no interest, knowledge, talent or skill whatsoever on those fronts — which I see as pretty corrosive and counterproductive in terms of community building.
Fully agreed with you that I don’t think they’re malicious in intent, but Dinkleberry’s functional impact on this website is overwhelmingly negative in my book.
I use ZFS on top of LUKS with the same three-way root/nix/home breakout and a separate SWAP partition.
Works pretty well and sidesteps the partition-sizing issue entirely, since the pools don’t have to be a fixed size.
Yeah, that’s pretty textbook.
Outside of the usual semantic arguments about what constitutes a primary diagnosis, I can’t see a good reason why that would get so much pushback (sexism aside).
What is your particular understanding of “dissociation”, as in the specific signs and symptoms you see in your friend?
No one serious disagrees about the literal existence of dissociative behaviors (i.e. “checking out” for reasons both physiological and psychological), but plenty of people disagree about the phenomenology + clinical nature of DID and related DSM constructs.
This one is worth the read.
I was active on there for a few years.
The mods are uber-censorious, in short. There were also a few power users who liked to brigade anything they disagree with.
Lemmy isn’t infallible or immune to such behavior by any means — but the public modlog, option to instance hop, and federated-community nature make it feel far more open and transparent. Tildes is much more of a walled garden, for better or (IMO) worse.
Thumbs up in my book then :)!
The photo isn’t diagnostic on its own, but the top fruit certainly has Pleurotus vibes. The gills, stem, and ridge look right.
Can’t really tell what’s up with that bottom one.
If you wind up taking down a sample, give us a cap view, a look at the underside and stem, and a wider view of the tree for reliable ID. Quick reference here if you want examples: https://www.inaturalist.org/posts/57217-elementary-guide-for-mushroom-photography
There was formerly a pretty active mycology community on the mander.xyz lemmy instance, but no one’s rebuilt it since mander unexpectedly went down a while back. (If anyone wants to collab on a replacement instance or comm group, hmu).
