I'm beyond excited for the proper release, I kinda wanna hold off continuing the demo until then but it's hard to stay away haha
Only diagnosed with ADHD (and would likely only barely be on the spectrum for autism) but that's why I ended up only being able to work in emergency services. Mostly medical (paramedic & 911 operator/ambulance dispatcher) but I've also spent a few years in HAZMAT response and disaster relief.
Excited to see the free roam coming soon, but I could've sworn I'd seen them say they were cancelling the free roam feature for EVO a little while back. Anyone know if my memory is right or not? And if so, I'm curious what's changed.
So you're the only one who can safely make assumptions on behalf of others? Ok, noted.
I completely agree with you. I think the intention behind their system was good, and is better than the alternatives they've used for the Steam Deck and Controller, but they really need to clarify and/or relabel both lists.
That being said, my comment was based on what I remember reading during the Steam Machine's release and I assume it applies to the Frame as well. But I don't remember at all if it was from an official source or simply what people were theorizing in various threads at the time.
My understanding is that the reservation queue is a mix of "we have a specific physical unit assigned to your name" and "we have a manufacturing order placed, of which one of the units is assigned to you". Whereas waitlist is more "we haven't even placed the order yet to manufacture your unit, so we can't guarantee it will even get made".
So the distinction is more about the likelihood of ever getting one.
No particular order but mine would be (I went with a top 10 list since I just couldn't narrow it down further):
- Factorio
- Portal 2
- Arma 3
- Bastion
- LA Noire
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Halo CE
- Stationeers
- Any of the Metro games
- Tetris
Only time I've ever had an "electronic" device checked like that was at an airport in Europe about 15 years ago (if memory serves me right, I think it was CDG in France). I had a DSLR with a couple extra lenses and they asked me to turn on the camera and take a picture with each lense attached. They also asked to view through the viewfinder with each.
There's a whole lot of assumptions in that statement.
IMO there's a few recipes that are fairly big momentum killers in Satisfactory. Factory games are probably my favourite genre and I love so many parts of satisfactory but I always hit a point in a playthrough that makes me quit (funnily enough, it's often not the same item that makes me quit).
Managed to get on the reservation queue for the 256GB in Canada.
I think Valve used up all of my luck for the foreseeable future, I somehow managed to get a controller at launch, a Machine within a few weeks of launch, and now the Frame.
Still haven't 100% decided if I'll keep my slot, but chances are pretty good I will given I've been looking to upgrade from the Rift S for a long time.
This is an incredible project, I love it! Very well done OP.
