CryptoBilis again.

They were sold a short time before all of these supply chain attacks with an NDA for the sellers not to disclose that the company was sold.

Now at least two different hardware wallet manufacturers have been hit with the same supply chain attack. No other companies have been found selling wallets with these implants.

This makes me think it's CryptoBilis itself that is responsible for these attacks.

If you have a neighbor with an open wifi network then use it to torrent all the new movies from the most questionable sources without a VPN. I guarantee they will lock it down after they start getting letters from their ISP.

No self righteousness here. How did you even get that from my comment? Where did I insinuate anything that made you think I was higher than anyone else?

Again, you’re letting your feelings guide your opinions and shellac them with academic frippery while you still blind yourself to the simple fact: you’re conflating the tech with those responsible for promoting its use in this disgusting, indefensible way.

Where did my feelings show? I expressed an opinion thats it. You took offense and replied with hostility and insults.

You call me kiddo. I was here before myspace. I was here before AOL. I was a member of facebook when it was invite only. I'm a programmer by trade. I helped build the algorithms that you claim help your cause. I have seen first hand how they work. They don't help you. I try to make amends for my work by educating people but some, like you, have fallen victim to the algorithms. I feel pity for you.

Feel free to check my history here. Its clear that I know what I'm talking about with regards to computer science.

You are mistaken in your argument and your attacks on me.

I think you are trying to use keywords and things you have heard without knowing their meaning to support your "debate."

I did not muddy or conflate the topic.

I'll rehash it for you. The topic is that social media has been banned in a couple states. The effect is that kids cannot use social media.

The comment that I originally replied to absolves all the bad social media has done so that a few may be helped. You supported this by saying "That’s the abuse of it by corrupted fucksticks, not the underlying tech itself."

First off, the underlying tech is the problem.

Second issue is that it's the same argument for the death penalty. To paraphrase, it's okay if we kill a couple innocent people if most are guilty. Inversely, it's okay that society is negatively effected if we can save a few LGBTQ+.

To clarify again I support LGBTQ+ but social media is bad for society.

I understand your argument and fully support LGBTQ+ but I still think social media is a net negative for society.

The suicides by kids because of social media, the rampant misinformation for kids and adults on almost all issues, the algorithm controlling content, increased rates of depression, suicide, narcissism, eating disorders and loneliness... The list can go on.

I shared the math for my situation, you need to do the math for your own situation.

Start with the cost of USD->USDT or even another coin you choose. Let's call this amount W.

Then the costs for transferring to another exchange. The exchange should be able to convert from USDT to your local currency.* Call this amount X.

Then the exchange withdrawal costs. Call this amount Y.

Finally the local bank fees for deposit, if any. call this amount Z.

    W+X+Y+Z= your total transfer costs.

*If you cannot find an exchange that allows selling crypto for your local currency then you will need to sell it for another currency. Then withdrawal that currency to your local bank account. That bank will charge fees for conversion so you will need to factor that in if applicable.

At this point it's apparent that you are anti crypto and trying to find any excuse to justify your opinion. Maybe you can find a situation where your opinion is validated but I'm not going to research it for you.

I gave you actual numbers from my experience. What makes you think I will have the numbers for any other situation besides my own?

I suppose it depends on your specific situation.

USD->USDT 1%. Then less than $1 for transfer to local exchange. Then USDT-> local currency is ~$0.50. Finally, withdrawal to my local bank account ~$0.50.

So total crypto fees are 1% plus ~$2. The ATM fees for me are 3.75% plus ~$7.50.

Also, the ATM is limited to ~$1000 per withdrawal transaction so for every extra transaction add ~$7.50.
