so, this is not monetised in any obvious way, since it's free and they claim that no data leaves your device.

so tell me then, why I can't find a link to a foss repo? what's the point in keeping it proprietary, if you make no money and get no data anyways?

in conclusion I must assume lies, or deception and some other kind of monetisation where the user is the product... why else would you hide the source...

The other comments explained the differences quite well. I just wanted to mention that whilst, yes, Wayland is the future, and it works great for me, it does still lack some important features. AFAIK, accessibility is considerably worse on Wayland so far, which is why e.g. visually impaired folks fare better with X11. (at least it was that way not too long ago)

whilst a clock app doesn't need frequent updates, I font love to see that chronos las commit was two years ago... anyone got a good alternative to recommend?

EDIT: Thank you for your responses. I will likely be keeping BlackHawky/Clock. It is on IzzyOnDroid as well as F-Droid, with recent/active development. It's UI and config options are nice. But most importantly, to me, its got timer and alarm tiles for the quick settings.

I have looked into Fossify Clock, and whilst a clock app doesn't really need active development, it being Beta and the last update being nine months old isn't my favourite combination. Beyond that, it doesn't come with quick settings tiles.

ClockYou on IzzyOnDroid and F-Droid. It's good looking, and has active development with an IMO reasonable AI policy. It does however not come with quick settings tiles either.

Ive been deeply entrenched in the apple ecosystem, and I did eventually switch. key for me, similar to what other people said, was to switch the programs/ apps first. by moving to Firefox (zen), thunderbird, Libre office, Obsidian/zettlr, immich and the likes on apple first, I was able to swap out the OS without the need to relearn much.

so, my recommendation would be to get her the replacements, step by step, and give her time to get to know them, whilst having the previous defaults as fallback.

the “Ambients Silent Kailh Low Profile Choc Switches” in the twilight variant. they are the absolute best switches i’ve ever used in my entire life. linear, low force, short travel, very silent, and yet very satisfying to bottom/top out. they’re also the only silent switches i’ve liked to far.

well, i’ve been taught that keeping cookies around is somewhat dangerous, and that because of that browsers like librewolf always clear your cookies. i’m by no means an expert tho, so you might wanna read the other commenters input on that.

all i can say is that i need to log into outlook to log into teams, because logging into teams directly is broken, but the cross site cookie work…

and reading stuff like adFection really doesn’t instill confidence in opening random websites.

but most probably you’re right for most cases.

from what i’ve heard, even if something isn’t able to break out of your browser, it may be able to gain access to cookies. those cookies in turn can carry a lot of info and even unlock some accounts. iirc that’s how the linux tech tips channel got into trouble.

everyone, please correct me where i’m wrong. thank you.

Cheers entities, I need your help.
I'm writing a paper in which I need to argue that gay panic is a term that is being reclaimed by the queer community, after having been used for evil far too long. I was wondering whether anyone on here got a better idea than citing urban dict. Any and all help is greatly appreciated :3

P.s.: The paper isn't entirely about gay panic, but rather needs this snippet to "prove" that the Webis Trigger Warning Corpus 2022 is at least partially flawed.
