No, we can't, that's literally what Union busting is - intentionally adding as much friction as possible to people agreeing on that very thing. Perhaps we would if we could but powerful forces work such that we can't, even if it could be argued we ought be allowed.

Counterpoint - if we were on .ML these people would be blocked - they're exercising their freedom.

We're not on Reddit, Facebook, or X and you'll find whole communities of haters for those sites, too.

Believe it or not, negativity tends to spread further than positivity in general as we are a risk-averse species, and it's one of the documented harms of social media in general. You're probably gonna find some version of this style of bitching no matter where ya go, it's a human thing.

My Visio TV developed a thing where the OSD menus freeze up and the controls unresponsive frequently - it's not connected to WiFi. Its my opinion that some internal drive is filled up with my watch data that a factory reset cannot fix, and I suspect the lack of disk space is why it's freezing. I can't* prove this, but I suspect it to be.

*I might possibly have the skills to, but my time is devoted to other tasks, and I don't want to deprive my household of the living room TV just because I want to tear it apart.

Pirates of the Caribbean. The plot, characters, actors, and effects are fine enough. Specifically the plot is bland; it's deliberately a hodgepodge of everything piratey tossed into a blender. Johnny Depp's performance is excellent, but more because it feels the script was shaped around his eccentric dude persona rather than them stretching their skills. None of this makes the film bad just mediocre.

… but the score is a masterpiece. Instantly iconic, filled with layered motifs, carries the sense of adventure and perfectly shapes the mood of each scene. Both catchy enough to become an earworm, but orchestral and textured enough that it's not unwelcome as one.

You are welcome to that opinion. Welcome to Lemmy! I see your account is a day old and has two comments and both are about what you don't like.

I'd love you to enjoy your time in this social experiment, so let's shift: what are your favorite things? I personally think that there's more community value to everyone in finding what we share.
