After entering duress pin, it dumps you to the bootloader and informs you the boot image is corrupted/inaccessible, and your only option is to reinstall the OS and set it back up from scratch

So yeah, graphene basically throws massive flags that its been wiped, but only on the first boot

Ive been using a surface duo as my reader for years now, but ive always wanted it to be eink rather than LCD, so this is dope. Absolutely going to look into building a Diptyx reader now, please do keep sharing updates on this, OP!

Unless its a pull through spot, this is why you always back into parking spots. Its been this way for much longer than the time frame OP is talking about. Parking lot driving has always been a Mad Max experience

I'd say Rothfuss is worse. He ran fundraisers promising content from the upcoming book, raised a significant amount then... Vanished into the ether and never provided the promised chapter people paid for as a reward!

GRRM, Rothfuss and Lynch are why I now wait for series to be released in full before reading them. No question on if the next book will come out that way.

That one episode broke me for days like no other show has ever done, its why Violet Evergarden is my #1 show.... That I will never rewatch.

For context, I was going through the same thing IRL as the characters in the episode were, so it hit all too close to home.

Worth noting so long as you have your SIM and can receive text messages, you can recover your google account, and log in with just username and password. Which gets you into all the 2FA stuff if you use google authenticator. One of the lessons I learned there is just how insecure all that is. Even though it made recovery possible for me, it means its not secure at all, and I need to revise my approach and unlink things.

I was on travel thousands of km from home, with no backups and all digital tickets. Lessons were learned, but I made it through in the end thanks to some very helpful folks along the way.

Remembering security layers to get my eSIM back was the most challenging step, and once the phone number was back I could recover the rest with ease, worth noting for any with a physical Sim, recovery is much easier, but that applies to the agents who steal your phone too.

Having uh, accidentally entered my duress pin a week or so ago I'll tell you now it works: Enter pin as normal, device starts to unlock, pin pad fades back then the device hangs for a few moments and reboots. Then it rebots to a menu that states the boot image is corrupted and your only option is a factory reset.

Point being is that it looks normal, unless you know what happened it could have been a memory issue and the phone just died. The GOS boot graphics give the game up though, I wish they'd change that especially with more scrutiny every day against devices running it.

Good, but also I won't actually believe they're in trouble until they shutter their doors and lay off all the staff.

Until then, definitely don't keep cutting their cameras down, yep. Deeeeeefinately not.
