Oh yeah we're fucked, I'm buckled in but scared - this ride is wackadoo.
My God this abomination of text should not exist. We have to go back.
It's interesting to see modern day "shovelware" is still around. The problem of shitty clones and rip offs of popular games has always been around. Or the classic bait and switch of advertising vs actual gameplay.
The proliferation of these things made possible through the internet and sites like itch.io and sped up by lazy AI slop has certainly made it even more pronounced. The difficulty of finding good indie games amongst a huge pile of trash has only grown.
That's what late stage capitalism mixed with desperation, delusion, and the desire to get rich quick will get you though.
Just an employee who cares more I'm sure. Idk the absolute gigantic scale of the plants that make these food products is insane. It's actually impressive there aren't more issues.
But like if you were on the factory floor and you were worried about losing your job and some random thing happened that ultimately probably won't kill anyone would you flag someone down or just let it go?
I'd like to think I'd grab somebody if I noticed it. I'd say it's likely just something happened and it wasn't noticed.
Why do you think the government exists? You think the FDA and EPA and other government agencies and regulations sprung from nowhere?
The market is not magic and we already are seeing outbreaks of diarrhea and other sickness directly caused by the slashing and diversion of funds for the government agencies responsible for keeping this stuff under control.
Besides that's a non sequitur to what I said. Also guess what that would be - gigantic massive change to the system which you said was never going to happen. So I guess at least you've come around on that!
You could start by voting for politicians who want to enact laws requiring more police training. Or at least not saying nothing ever will change, because if that were true the world would look a hell of a lot different.
Do I expect one person to make systemic change from the bottom up happen? No, I'm not a total moron. However, being defeatist and saying police reform, or any other thing that needs to happen, is simply impossible is not helping anyone.
Not sure between the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses which of them is worse. They both share a lot of commonality. In that both were created by some dude to excuse their behavior and control the community (in my opinion). Obviously deeper than that and plenty of differences but both of them I find have pretty dubious history.
It's just like ... Not though?
If they just straight up live in an alternate reality world where seeing a flag and leaving people alone to live their lives is equivalent to pushing the "woke agenda" there isn't much you can do.
You can ask how it's being forced on them but honestly they just are cowards with a victim complex who want to feel like they're being persecuted as they actually are insulated from the worst shit and are benefiting the most from our society.
So ... Yeah anyone that says woke stuff is being shoved down their throats is a moron tbh. I've had Mormons come knock on my door, never a queer person trying to convert me to ... The horrible idea of equality before the eyes of the law?
I'm aligned with you on that. Also speaking as someone in the USA ... We desperately need electrical infrastructure overhauled, invested in and nationalized. The state needs to intervene and help support the American people. Really all of our public infrastructure desperately needs help. So do a lot of people who are looking for work. We spend billions of dollars on killing kids but we can't fucking spend some to employ folks in massive green energy grid public works projects and kill two birds with one stone?
It's embarrassing. FDR, our most popular president, literally implemented all of these kind of policies - it's insane the Democratic party keeps shying away from them.
I do think there are responsible ways to build data centers, they have been around for a long time now - just the scale and speed and cutting corners happening now is something awful.
There is no modernity without data centers, this message between us could not exist without data centers - but what is going on now with these large AI companies and hyperscalers and the giant market speculation and spectre of the looming pop of this huge economic bubble .. That all is madness to the highest degree.
I'm not really disagreeing with you completely but I do think there are good use cases if the technology is applied well and the infrastructure is built responsibly in the way that causes the least environmental impact. That's not happening though.
That is so many words to say you're okay with the status quo and making no changes.
No amount of training will prevent this sort of thing, ever.
Really, like not even prevent some of it?
We can likely limit it, some of it
Oh so some amount of training will prevent this from happening just not completely eradicate it.
Your statements are directly contradictory - idk why I'm pointing this out just that it bugged me I guess but I agree with you that elimination of all violence carried out by the state is impossible. We can definitely limit it!
