I got laid off when I was 27 and planning a wedding as the primary earner. I was fortunate enough to have savings to get us through till my next job, but that took about 6 months. Its scary, but my advice would be to focus on yourself for a few weeks if you have the financial means to. I dont mean spend a lot of money or go on vacation, but maybe get started on your job profiles and resumes and apply here and there, but also just take time to process and grieve. Go for a walk or a drive and see the world during the day. Play some games or something or work on that fun project you never had time to before.

For me, it was around the time Tears of the Kingdom came out, and zelda is one of my favorite franchises. I would wake up play some Zelda, apply for jobs online for an bour or two, play some Zelda, make dinner for my wife and hang out until she went to bed, then play some Zelda some more.

There's no "correct" amount of time to be out of a job. I've seen people get hired within weeks, but I've also seen people go for mo tha or even years. It's all a process, but like other people said, your job does not define you and you did nothing wrong.

It is scary, less because of AI itself and more because of corporate greed and regular people without critical thinking skills that will blindly trust anything AI tells them. AI is and can be a really useful tool for a lot of scenarios. I use it as a coding assistant for my job almost daily. But I dont blindly accept what it tells me or programs. I test, debug, and research things. Its good for summarization, easy, repetitive tasks, and taking suggestions from the internet.

AI is a tool, and like any tool, it can be really dangerous if you don't use it in a smart way.

Chadwick Boseman. I was 24 when he died. I'm mixed and a huge nerd. He was one of the first times I saw representation like that in a comic book hero in a movie or TV show. T'Challa was a king, and his death came out of nowhere

I can't help with mods, but other games scratched the same itch for me. The wild era zelda games (breath of the wild & tears of the kingdom) are a dead ringer, and I probably spent over 600 hours across both. The Horizon series (horizon: zero dawn, horizon: forbidden west) are really good. A bit more story than skyrim, less caves, but still lots to do, and if you don't know the story, the first game has so much mystery in its world building thats fun to discover as you play!

I prefer the fantasy genre, so similar sci fi games didnt do it as much for me, but some of the fallout games and the outer worlds games are similar gameplay. The Outer Worlds 1 is basically just Firefly but with less charming characters, but i mean its hard to compete with Nathan Fillion, Gina Torres, and Alan Tudyk.

Trump makes racists feel safe to be openly racist. He has since his first term after he wouldn't denounce his endorsement from the former grand wizard of the kkk. Since the "good people on both sides".

Unrelated, but just a reminder its ok to punch nazis 👍

I have to disagree. This quote would be super shitty talking about microtransactions, but if this is about Peak, I dont believe they have any microtransactions in their game. Its the full price of the game. And honestly, if you have friends to play it with, $8 is a steal. Its nothing ground breaking or like world changing, but it's a fun time-waster to spend time with people you like and accomplish a goal with decent replayability.

As an American, it's my god given right to be shitty and make the lives of children and underprivileged and/or retired people as terrible as possible to make myself feel good. As the founding fathers intended.

Relationships are weird and complicated. I've yet to meet a human who has a simple relationship with both parents, lol. Life is complicated, but I truly hope things get better for you. Sending good vibes your way!

As a DM, my biggest complaint about the magic item shop generators online is the lack of exact price. Most come with a rarity, but I personally feel like the vast range in prices is too great for me to just plug and play. For example: I feel like a cloak of displacement is much more valuable than say a Berserker's Axe, even though they're both "Rare". So I felt like when players asked for a shop, I had to take time and read up on the item and then assign a price.

Would you use an online tool that was free (with like Google ads on side panels or something) that had associated exact prices (randomized between 75% and 125% and assigned value) that had a sliding scale based on something everyone probably has figured out for their world, like the price of a potion of Healing?

I've made a python script for my own personal use, and I'm thinking about turning it into a full web application. But I wanted to get your opinions on if this a tool you would like?
