When I was 7, my family had a TRS-80 CoCo. This photo is bringing back memories, it's exactly what we had - a silver box with keyboard, and a joystick controller. I learned to program in BASIC, and we played (mostly) text-based games. It had a cartridge slot for ROMs, and we later got a 5.25" floppy disk. I would tap out lines of BASIC code from books or magazines, while my older brother was programming direct in Assembley code. A great family computer for the time.

I hope they're mostly bots and don't represent real humans - nobody is acknowledging how impractical, unsafe, or illegal any of these moves are, nor how it's a just a stunt that will never reach real-world production or on-road use.

+1 for Night's Dawn or anything written by Peter F. Hamilton. He is 100% our best living ScFi author, I have nearly every book he's written on my shelf. Night's Dawn trilogy is amazing, but is a daunting length - I usually recommended Fallen Dragon to introduce new readers to his work, as it's much more contained (a standalone novel) and is brilliant.

The Collapsium by Wil McCarthy is one of my top ten fav Sci Fi novels. Bloom was also good...

Your being downvoted (by me at least) because I don't want more of america exporting its sick culture and bad attitudes to Australia. It's bad enough that every channel is chock-a-block with US crime dramas, and locally-made movies need to have an american lead to be considered for development. I want less american accents in my life, not more. Americans should stay in the shithole mess they created and work on fixing it, thank you very much.
