5 days before the election. Yup, I'm sure this lawsuit will be effective. The courts are known for their fast action and this administration is known for its adherence to court decisions. /s
"How are you going to vote this year? Democrat, Dumbass"
I'll bet my next paycheck that this store also sells "root starter".
I should have been more specific. With a few exceptions (e.g. Reed Richards and Charles Xavier), the intelligence of the protagonists is mostly not revealed to or celebrated by the comic public. We, the reader, are aware of it, but their intelligence is not generally celebrated within the comic universe. What they are celebrated for, mostly, in the comic universe is their physical capabilites. I always thought that this his sends the message that intelligence is not as useful as being physical capable and / or that intelligence should be kept hidden and is not something to showcase or be proud of.
Not saying that that there are not intelligent good guys, but their intelligence is rarely what is highlighted or celebrated about them. It's normally a side note or a quality leveraged by their more mundane alter ego rather than their more publicly visible super identity.
Something that always bothered me about comics is how the bad guy was almost always the intellectual who used their brain to solve / create problems while the good guys solved conflicts by punching things.
Growing up I only remember ever heard it as "swab the deck". Calling out the poop deck specifically is likely a modern or regional inclusion because, well, "poop".
Or maybe it's one of those Mandela Effect things and I've left my original universe.
It's not their fault. It's in their nature to support pedophiles.
And they still get billions in subsidies from the US taxpayer.
We created civilization for ourselves. It was a selfish construct that many could argue has had a damaging impact on the world and other life on this planet. The only way I see that as evidence for human superiority over all other life is if you already believe that human life is superior, which gets us to a circular argument.
Not sarcastic. I do not think that human life is more valuable than other life. Will I prioritize my own life over others? Yes, because I am selfish that way. Given the choice, will I choose a human life over the life of an animal? I honestly don't know.
Do you believe that human life is more valuable just because you are human and therfore believe that you are more valuable, or do you have other reasonings? What I am ultimately asking is, what do you think makes human life so special and superior to other life?
Not sure if you are being sarcastic or if you are arguing that human life is more valuable because you are human and therefore more valuable than all other life.
