That's made by a Chinese company that breaks gpl by not releasing the kernel source. There are custom Roms for it but they're based on a binary blob that can't be adjusted.
Yeah, this is my conclusion as well. It literally does not matter what the time is; we can choose to start school/work after sunrise like sane people.
Might as well fall back one more time, leaving an entire generation with an extra hour of sleep that is never taken away again.
Might also just be extreme dental whitening. The gaps between his teeth do not look good. That could also just be the photo though.
Right now, there is no such thing as a completely open source laptop/desktop computer. You can have an open source operating system. You can even have an open source bios in the form of libreboot. The hardware however, is impossible to have as open source too. intel, amd, and arm all have closed source binary blobs in them. Risc-v might be an option, but frankly, I don't expect any for profit company to make their hardware accessible in any sort of intentional way.
I will never willingly put any tech inside my body that isn't entirely open source. (Just you watch, i'll make a fuss about the pacemaker tech I need to have installed in 50 years!) Since this currently excludes every major hardware company in existence, I don't expect to ever answer this question positively.
By default, it does not; the predatory nature of this particular company notwithstanding.
For an extreme example, all I have to do to give a smoker a craving for a cigarette is too mention how bad it smells. It doesn't matter that I did it in a negative context, just that I mentioned it.
For this company, a gambling company, which is known as addicting enough to ruin people, just sharing the company name is enough to cause similar affects.
For regular companies the affect is also there, just in varying degrees of strong. As a lesser example, I could give you cravings by just mentioning a specific soft drink, so long as I guess the right brand.
Lense distortion is a helluva drug.
And sunscreen, and smoking, and minoxidil, and
That's nice.
The tragically ironic part is that Calvin went straight to watching TV as a way of avoiding 'wasting' his life.
The modern day equivalent is so common that it gained the name doomscrolling.
If it matters, I am on Fedora silverblue.
It does. HDR isn't really well supported on xorg-based systems. Fedora has Wayland though, which handles HDR better.
HDMI
This also matters. HDMI 2.1 isn't supported on amd systems just yet. It doesn't matter unless you want 144hz at 4k, but it does matter. Linux does a better job of supporting displayport, but tvs don't usually have displayport inputs.
I don't know that I ever had a windows setup that didn't have a bigass chunk of lag whenever the background changed. I'd get tired of all my windows freezing every ten minutes so fast.
