There was literally no blatant lies... Where is the lie in this:

Trump has blamed the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for the rise in global fuel prices, and last month lifted US sanctions on Russian diesel.

Trump did say that. This article isn't about fuel prices, so why expand on it.

If you want an article about fuel prices, try one of these:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/oct/22/trump-high-gas-prices-midterms-cycle

Energy prices across the board are higher because of the US war on Iran, which closed the strait of Hormuz, through which much of the world’s crude oil flows.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/oct/30/iran-war-energy-crisis-winter

The war didn’t create America’s energy affordability crisis. But it is making a bad situation much worse.

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2026/oct/26/european-gas-prices-four-year-high-winter-supply-fears-middle-east

The jump in gas prices comes as fears grow that there could be further supply disruptions in the Middle East, amid reports the US and Israel have drawn up plans for renewed strikes against Iran after the US midterm elections.

https://www.theguardian.com/business/2026/oct/23/oil-five-month-high-fears-us-renews-strikes-iran

The jump came after Tehran said it would attack oil facilities, undersea cables, datacentres and AI facilities in the Gulf region if a new US-Israeli offensive was launched against Iran.

They’re overhyping every god damn bug they can because they know most people won’t know how bad it actually is

Where is Anthropic doing this? The one that finds the vulnerability are not the ones that assigns it a CVSS score. CVSS is calculated with a standardized format, and is not mean to be a measure of risk. So this is no the AI companies saying how bad the vulnerabilities are, but rather the owners/maintainers of the code.

Hell, they don’t even manage to understand proper bug disclosure practices.

Have you ever stopped to consider previous bug disclosure practices aren't as applicable? If anyone can find bugs using AI, then even if Anthropic or OpenAI finds a vulnerability, they can't know for sure they are the first. Even if they are the first, it's only a matter of time before the next people find it even if the first discovery was never publicly disclosed.

There have also been countless bugs given directly to companies, and fixed without a big blow up or news spectacle. You didn't hear about those, because they didn't blow up. So you are going to have a level of confirmation bias.

Why couldn't it be that there are just a ton of really bad vulnerabilities that have never been discovered until a tool like AI came by to find them? There is nothing special about Anthropic or OpenAI, they are just the fastest moving with this new technology. Why couldn't the bugs they find be just as bad as they are claimed to be, especially when severity is often not determined by the AI company anyway

It’s the classic AI writing style — restating the original point in unnecessarily elaborate terms, explaining the joke as if the reader needs a literature review, setting up a false dichotomy, and ending with a neat little generalized takeaway. Add some em dashes and words like “rather than” and “as though,” and you’ve got the whole package. It’s not any one quirk; it’s the cumulative effect of sounding polished, verbose, and weirdly over-explanatory without actually adding much.

Bitlocker enabling by default without user input is horrible.

    I disagree

Hosting the keys online is also horrible.

    I agree

It shouldn't require a loophole to use Windows without a Microsoft account. Cloud hosting the bitlocker key does remove a lot of the security benefit in the first place. But I also recognize if you're going to enable it by default, you have to automatically store it somewhere since most people will not save it themselves. But Microsoft should not be able to access the keys either, they should be fully encrypted without the users password.
