Extraordinary claims requires extraordinary demonstrations and establishing your assumptions clearly.
Please "eli5" ... not sure i follow what you are saying here.

Edit #1 :

Having the gall to refuse to pay taxes ...

You meant to say the goal ?

Edit #2 :
in book titled : "Rising Sun" from Michael Crichton, there is this saying that goes : "Trade is war" that was applied to the then, ~1980s', predatory trade from Japan against the economy of the USA.
Nowadays trade is more and more driven by artificial intelligence ... so with all this, i would argue, in this line of thought, "a.i." is part of a new kind of war.

Yours is the first valid argument, after reading previous 13, all of which were, unfortunately, more up-voted than yours.
Edit : Now, having read all 38 main comments, yours is the only one that has real valid logic.

    Nice link, simple excerpt :
    2026-July-24

It was previously thought that colliding heavy ions such as lead – which is over 200 times heavier than the protons typically collided at the LHC – was the only way to create the conditions necessary to form QGP. But recently this premise has been thoroughly challenged, including earlier this year when the ALICE Collaboration, which specialises in the study of this extreme state of matter, reported a new sign of QGP from proton–proton and proton–lead collisions. And last year, the LHC Collaborations opened up a new probe of QGP when they found the first hints of QGP from oxygen–oxygen collisions. Now, having searched even more deeply, the LHC experiments have seen multiple signs of QGP formation in oxygen–oxygen and neon–neon collisions.

i was going to write :
Societies that sees as "heroic" such futile waste of time, is really sick to its core. Although i can see that someone could become broken enough to waste their life in similar ways ... to try and divert ressources to their foolish ego.
Now, let the down-votes rain on my unpopular and maybe extremist opinion.
But, if maybe, they made a good life, full of good deeds along the way, then : yes, this is possibly heroic, i could not judge nor have any means to know their true lives.

One big question surrounds the masses of different neutrinos. Which is lightest and which heaviest? The answer could reveal fundamental new forces of nature. And in an attempt to answer the matter v antimatter question, Dune(*) will look for subtle differences between neutrinos and their antimatter twins, antineutrinos.

(*) this is the name of this very expensive new toy for physicists.

(...) Trump has been hit with a $310 million lawsuit, in Palm Beach County, accusing him, Elon Musk, and Bill Gates of participating in an alleged “trafficking venture” that plaintiffs claim mirrors Jeffrey Epstein’s operation. The lawsuit, filed Nov. 24 and reported by BOCA News Now, alleges an eight-year pattern of exploitation beginning in 2018 and continuing under Trump’s current administration.

Hi lemmings, what do you think about this and do you see a parallel with the human mind ?

... "A second, more worrisome study comes from researchers at the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, University of Toronto, and Imperial College London. It found that training AI systems on data generated by other AI systems — synthetic data, to use the industry’s term — causes models to degrade and ultimately collapse" ...
