Been trying to get home for the past 2.5 hours on a 15 minute train ride.... I hope Evelyn Palla gets locked in a DB bathroom and starves to death
post
Article says this is due to a radio communications malfunction that likely won't be resolved for at least 6-12 hours, and there's also mention of general disruption of the communications (IT disruption) throughout the country. I don't want to jump too hard at a conclusion but if I did it would be a Russian hack or sabotage. I'd sorta hope to be wrong, but I just doubt technical incompetence from the Germans here.
Added: Reading another article now and yea there's some context I didn't have. Yikes.
A lesson in resiliency.
It has ended.
Didnt the train used to be very reliable?
I don't know if you mean "used to" as in years before, but recently every time i saw people talking about Deutsche Bahn it was to say "lol Deutsche Bahn is having a problem again", so it seems to me their reputation is not (anymore) the reputation of a reliable service.
Hahahahahahaha
Oh. Uh, I see. But Germany has a rep for being very detail-focused, and trains are probably the most organized infrastructure out there.
Too bad.
A Germans favorite conversation topic is how late the train was again. There is certainly worse in other countries but exactly because Germany is supposed to be so punctual it’s an embarrassment.
Is it because of the heatwave ?
I'm not saying it's Russian hacker
That wouldn't explain all the other years of incompetence. I think they just suck at doing train things
Train service is currently suspended throughout Germany. A malfunction in the train radio system is causing major problems.
Deutsche Bahn has also commented on the problem. It refers to a nationwide IT disruption “affecting internal communication channels.” Further information is to follow.
Radio interference and IT outages - benign or a cyberattack?
The outage has apparently been resolved as of an hour ago or so. Trains are starting to roll again, how ever long it'll take to get back to whatever is called "normal" these days.
Whats up with reliable german railways, its like they're not even concentrating.
Sounds like hackers but they don't want to say hackers.
