I mean, if you feel like you're addicted, you should probably look into it. I wouldn't do this by asking random strangers, but rather search for medical sources. For example you could search for (legit) porn addiction questionaires and if it turns out you indeed score high there, what you can do about it.

I don't expect software companies to refrain from using AI altogether, what bothers me much more are the attitude and conduct here. Insulting people who want to move just a little slower? Security second? Forcing AI onto your employees? The fuck?

You are a privacy-focused company. There is no privacy without security. Security comes first. It's that simple.

Every breach seriously hurts your reputation. One big mistake and your business may be wiped out. How can you not see that? Pushing your employees to work faster and use unreliable AI tools is the opposite of what you should do.

That is true of course, all I meant to say is that using a web browser shouldn't demand more than 8 GB of RAM. On Linux, with zswap, you can probably get away with it. On Windows? Probably a horrible experience (the persistent horrors of Windows aside).

I've noticed this as well. I have been learning Japanese for about 2 years at this point (sometimes more, sometimes less serious), and I have a really hard time understanding anything that is not targeted at children. Mostly because it's too fast and I don't know the words.

Don't get me wrong, having large amounts of RAM and lots of CPU muscle has made software terribly inefficient. An everyday user shouldn't have to have more than 8-16 GB and perhaps 4 cores to get by. That said, wtf are we even talking about here? The solution to too little RAM is making more or using less. Memory is a commodity, not a privilige.

How come people nowdays instantly assume someone stating facts is supporting an agenda? I am genuinely curious, because there isn't the slightest indication of that in this post.

AI is developed and datacenters are build this very moment, whether you, I or OP like it or not. There is no debate or opinion here.
