I'm surprised it took this long

I'm sure the Romans were saying it would take generations to rebuild the empire, too.

Fair point in the long run, but Rome had cycles of ascendance, stagnation, decline, and rebirth. The Roman republic founded by Romulus and Remus was vastly different from the Rome that fought Carthage, which was vastly different from the Rome that unified with Egypt via marrying Cleopatra VII, which was vastly different from Constantine's Rome.

Arguably the US is in a decline comparable to end of the Roman Republic before the rise of the Roman Empire.

Corruption, ineffective government, economic decline, domestic instability and yet a very large military.

Debatably Rome only fell once it lost its military might. Huge simplification I know. Lots of factors lead to Rome being weak enough to be sacked and losing control of its territories.

In last couple of days ads have been aired on TV in Australia promoting the disunited states as a fun holiday destination. We laughed as it aired (because of the awkwardly inappropriate message) about 15 minutes after another innocent has been shot by the american gestapo. You’d have to be mad to go to the du (disunited states) now if you are anything other than white male. Even then I suspect travel insurance will be reassessing premiums now that risks have escalated materially.

You'll have to define what do you mean "white male". I am pretty sure I'm not, given that my skin is not pale-white and my hair is black. And like me, so many south europeans are probably much less white than they think.

I was thinking of the nazi description of Aryan purity. So i sus pect southern europe wouldn't count unless blue eyes, blond or light brown hair. Got to wonder what they are thinking. FIFA anyone?

Not according to my Norwegian brother-in-law; he thinks the world will go back to normal when America elects a democratic leader. He's a dumb engineer who does not understand geopolitics.

A third of Germans supports AFD and BSW, they probably support what’s happening in the US.

I really fucking hope the current world politics will lead to less votes for the nazis in the next election.

It won't because the liberal parties are fucking useless everywhere. Look at Macron and Starmer as the main examples. Meanwhile the German government wants to keep shoveling money into the Palestinian genocide.

It’s not just Germany. The whole word is going to shit lately.

Things are getting worse and people are offering easy solutions, blame X minority for your problems. The rich and powerful who are to blame support these scapegoats while they bolster their authority and control.

A third has ^^ To be fair those voters were never really using their brain much. Populists in the whole EU are taking advantage of those dumb fucks for a while now.

EDIT: There is something funny going on though, populist right-wing leaders have difficulties in finding a position regarding Trump and the US. On one hand they really love licking Trumps boots, on the other hand their voters want "Germany first" and they are aware that Trump's actions are directly hurting them.

With all the gun deaths that regularly occur here, the government getting in on the action really makes now not the best time to come over. Check back in a few decades.

If you want to know the truth about how things are going in Venezuela. Look at the US travel advisory for Venezuela. That's usually where nations tell the truth about how they feel about other nations, or the actual situation on the ground. Us citizens are in mortal danger in most places in South America. You are more likely to be kidnapped and murdered in South America because of Trump, opposed to having a nice vacation in those very same countries. That's how much he has ruined what little good will we had with our neighbors.
