It usually means that moderates become more like authoritarians unfortunately. This particular brand will leave but their politics won’t.

It won't because the liberal parties are fucking useless everywhere. Look at Macron and Starmer as the main examples. Meanwhile the German government wants to keep shoveling money into the Palestinian genocide.

At least the leftwing party in germany is getting some growth. They are also not without their flaws, but if you average it out with the greens it might be okay.
