[In my experience, Cyberpunk is often just as unhelpful.]

Well, it's not like WoD was designed for people who likes rules. Or basic arithmetic.

My understanding is that WoD is more a state of mind than an actual game.

So the people into it tend to claim. They also tend to claim that "death is romantic" and "the only color is black", so their claims should perhaps be taken with a modicum of salt.

When you include Changeling: The Dreaming, the average WoD player has a normal amount of joy, whimsy, and colour.

Sidenote, it's so weird how they never made any other version of Changeling. Thank god we don't live in the reality where White Wolf seriously attempted dark and edgy Changeling and politically neutral Werewolf. That would have been crazy.

Red is a mess. I’ve played it for years and I still can’t find the table I need. Also combat is a spongy mess.

Try Savage Worlds with the Sprawlrunners book. It has rules for everything you'd want in a Shadowrun game for Savage Worlds, so you just cut out the non-human races and magic and bam: Cyberpunk with better rules.

I played in a Shadowrun game that we converted to that ruleset and it rocked.
