Imagine having such little self respect that youd stay with that guy after he raped some girl/cheated on you.

They're in some weird culture where they brainwash the women to stay with their husbands even after it's shown they are unprecedented pieces of shit.

...and I think this attitude has been used to infantilize these women and absolve them of their own awful natures.

half of the white women in America voted for Trump and treating them as brainwashed (which by extension implies innocence) treats them as though they don't take part in and enable ssid behavior themselves.

I understand the dominance of the patriarchy influences this, but this is the modern era and all these women have a phone with the whole ass internet in their pocket. They have the tools to learn differently and walk away and they largely choose not to until the consequences come knocking for them specifically.

So I am with OP on this one, she's quite likely an even bigger piece of shit than him.

Republicans are already throwing him under the bus. They can't say the war was Trump's fault so Hegseth is the obvious fall guy. Which is stupid because Trump is the Commander in Chief and ultimately responsible for any military action. But then again I stopped trying to understand these people.

The phrase 'tip of the iceberg' comes to mind, like tippy top. Sure, go after that too, but there are much bigger fish to fry. Let them not get away with sacrificing a lamb to the wolves, there's a whole lot of mauling due.

Business as usual, spouses and families are a great way to pull in millions. See Trump's family and Hunter Biden for example, they all made off like bandits.

Also, spouses can't be forced to testify against their partner and are a common shield to fleece taxpayers... see Omar and her "political consultant" husband (rags to riches for them both in less than 8 years) and Ted Cruz's wife Heidi (Goldman Sachs, frequent board members of The Fed).
