Israeli analyst Noga Arbel calls for immediate destruction of UNRWA (theintercept.com)

Noga Arbel is a former senior analyst at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a former researcher at the Kohelet Policy Forum. She has made extreme statements about Palestinians and Gaza.

During a discussion in the Israeli parliament on January 4, 2024, she called for the destruction of UNRWA. She said: "It will be impossible to win the war if we do not destroy UNRWA, and this destruction must begin immediately." She also said that UNRWA's duties "must be abandoned. Or, they must go to hell."

Her statements reflect a wider push by Israeli officials and analysts to dismantle the UN agency that provides aid to Palestinian refugees. This comes amid the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
