    I think we need a new phrase for mathematical neurons. It implies we have a greater understanding of actual living brain neurons than we actually do. Obfuscates more than it facilitates.

    I disagree, biological neurons evolved under the exact same selection pressures the article explains. Their complexity doesn't change their fundamental nature and the problems the brain solves.
