Stickers.
Window stick-ons that don't really stick very well and just come off when it's hot enough outside.
Car horns. I'd ban them all if made Empress of the World for a day.
I got so excited about a silly trend I hadn’t seen yet like truck nuts, where people were putting antlers on their cars, then I realized what you meant. That’s much less whimsical and I understand how they’re annoying much better.
People chewing or slurping. I cannot understand ASMR. Makes me irrationally angry where I want to stab a fork into their eye.
But I like stickers. :)
I have misophonia and absolutely can't stand chewing, but I fucking love certain kinds of asmr. I dont know how to explain it, and I'm extremely specific about the content, but my body just has very strong both positive and negative responses to sound.
TIL about misophonia, which I almost certainly experience. Literally an hour ago I felt the usual intense revulsion and dislike towards a family member for sitting near me to eat their meal and making what I perceive as unreasonably loud disgusting chewing sounds. It even mentions that the emotional reaction tends to be stronger with family members than strangers, which is accurate. I'll just leave rooms because I can't stand to be near family who are eating, whereas it's just upsetting to be near strangers or coworkers who are eating.
Some other mouth sounds trigger it too, but not not to the same degree; I've been recommended songs that I had to stop early because the vocalist was making kinda wet popping or clicking noises as part of the song.
Neither are as bad as Styrofoam rubbing against Styrofoam — then just thinking about it makes my skin crawl — but that doesn't fall under misophonia.
Edited typo
Diamond commercials. And to a lesser extent diamonds themselves.
I always end up saying “diamonds; that’ll shut her up!” When they play on the radio.. idk where it came from but the commercials drive me batty, so it makes me feel slightly better.
Long nails, especially fake ones. They give me the ick in ways I can't explain or justify.
When people explicitly ask for your number to keep in touch and then don’t. Like, don’t ask then?
Edit: it’s common as a social nicety and I wish it wasn’t
The word "lush". OH GOD SHUT UP
