It's insane, but it's actually true.

Forcing yourself into "positive" routines and thought patterns, even when you're not "feeling" them absolutely impacts how you handle life and your ability to move forward positively in it. My worst times have always been when I haven't been able to force myself to do that, that's when I know it's really bad. I learned young that the only way out of chronic depression was routine, cleanliness, and goals.

Especially with trying to get out of depression, there's weirdly an element of "faking it til you make it" that actually works. Those small goals build up over time, building not just confidence and calm, but forward inertia in your life.

So yes, how do you stay so positive?

    Delusion.

Be careful, most mistakes throughout history are the fault of delusion. Having an accurate perception of reality is the only way to stay safe.
