I thought you meant the link to fffmpegs forgejo site rather than the crosspost link. Maybe it's just the app I'm using, but sync was able to redirect me to the Open source community that this was originally posted to. (It's hosted on lemmy.ml, but the poster is from Lemmy.zip, which is why the post link is Lemmy.zip). When I open via browser though, I see the OSA block that you're referring too... An interesting difference for sure. But I suppose if all posts from lemmy.zip were blocked, we wouldn't be seeing this one either, so I'm guessing it's just post shares that won't work? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] 3dcadmin@lemmy.relayeasy.com 1 point 1 year ago Well it seems that the title is fetched and when you click to visit then it is geoblocked... [–] 3dcadmin@lemmy.relayeasy.com 2 points 1 year ago (2 children) Because... the OSA is badly worded, pretty damn oppressive and the penalties are so high that if they enforced them then well, pretty much ANY decent website will cease to be available in the UK. Simple really, plus it doesn't do anything like it should do as users just magically appear to be in a different country... permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] pressanykeynow@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 child) What you describe sounds either like incompetence, or like perfect censorship tool as intended. I'm in the UK and was able to access the site without using a VPN or anything like that. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 5 child comments replies: [–] 3dcadmin@lemmy.relayeasy.com 3 points 1 year ago (4 children) lemmy.zip is blocked in the UK permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] javiwhite@feddit.uk 2 points 1 year ago* (1 child) Oh I see what you're talking about. I mean I get the idea, and it is fine (if I wanted to I'd magically move to another country) but it was more a point that federation for geoblocked stuff is kinda borked (not in a bad way) permalink fedilink source parent [–] DreamlandLividity@lemmy.world 1 point 1 year ago (1 child) Time for Mullvad VPN? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] 3dcadmin@lemmy.relayeasy.com 1 point 1 year ago I haz a vpn thanks.
