The crisis has loomed for months. In February, the United States launched a war of choice on Iran. As Iran fired back with ballistic missiles and one-way attack drones, the United States, Israel, and various Persian Gulf countries began launching Patriot surface-to-air missiles at an unsustainable rate.

Before the war on Iran, US forces had around 2,300 PAC-2 and PAC-3 missiles for their Patriot batteries. Just two months into the war, the Americans had fired no fewer than half of the multi-million-dollar missiles, which are some of the only air defense munitions that can swat down cruise missiles, drones, and ballistic missiles.

A feature, NOT a bug, of the Iran War. Ukraine was betrayed by its "allies".

This places Ukraine into a position where it must counterattack. This is going to be a brutal winter for Ukrainian civilians but I also think about how that is only going to awaken the dragon more in Ukraine's military, I don't see how it can break resolve rather than harden it.

not what I am saying at all

edit Ukraine is going to experience the most frightening escalation of ballistic missile use in our lifetime this winter, my point isn't that this is good because it will make Ukrainian soldiers fight harder, rather given russia's land offensive has stalled, the Ukrainian army has agency this winter and they aren't going to sit around playing cards in a bunker waiting for spring if russia keeps conducting mass terrorist attacks against Ukrainian civilians at an unprecedented scale.

Since you can read, you should check out supersquirrel’s long history of passionate support for Ukraine before making cynical comments.

I have nothing against Squirrel, just asking to select wording better.

My point is if russia spends the entire winter pummelling Ukraine in acts of mass terrorism with ballistic missiles and flying jet bombs there is going to be consequences for that involve the fact that these weapons cannot stop a land army....

I guess it is a possible psychological effect, but nobody here except the tankies think that it's good that USA doesn't support Ukraine.
I understand you are pissed seeing the suffering and your country being destroyed in a totally unprovoked illegal war.
But everybody here really is on your side. Maybe sometimes a bit too eager to see something positive when it isn't there, because we too really want Russia to lose and leave Ukraine.
