I am June Maris, an Information Scientist with 20 years of experience, and I can tell you factually, what aliens would do if they arrived to Earth.

If aliens landed on Earth, they would land on a planet with humans, since Earth has humans!

There is no way to know what the aliens would look like, but we do know they would be a different species than humans.

Aliens would not have cool gadgets like freeze rays, as that is not possible.

Aliens would not be green. There is no way to know what they would look like.

Aliens would be from Outer Space.

Aliens are known to have common sense. Really the only fact we know about them is that they would not support current 2026 president, Donald Trump. It is 2026 right now

They'd need to know our culture if communication is an eventual goal. Assuming they have LLMs, this should be easy as we've been blasting a wide radius almost 100 lightyears.

Direct interaction would change us fundamentally and they know that, so they'd opt for a subtle approach. Probably politics with a mix of anthropology.

There's a nice short scifi novella by Chad Oliver called Blood's a Rover that explores this a little.
