Jesus Christ.

Every person who enabled this corruption and the price gouging of energy for Georgia's consumers should be looking at a decades-long prison sentence.

So, I live in Georgia & I'm happy to see Dems on the PSC, but electricity here is 8 cents per kWh. There were some big cost overruns adding nuclear reactors to Vogtle, but them and Watts Bar are the only people to add nuclear since 1990. Relative to a lot of other states, it's hard to argue Georgians are being gouged.

And I really would like to know what's in the data center deals, especially what happens when the data center goes tits-up 3 years into the life of a 40-year power plant

I was reading this first, then I saw your 8c/kWh.

according to data from U.S. Energy Information Administration, which shows Georgia’s rate at exactly 15 cents per kilowatt-hour as of May 2025.

Nationally, average residential rates range from 17 to 17.5 cents per kilowatt-hour, placing Georgia 22nd among U.S. states for electricity costs — a position that makes it moderately priced compared to the rest of the country.
