“I’ve made clear from the very beginning that our top priority is going to be to drive down the high cost of living,” the House minority leader said on Fox News Sunday.

So your argument for them to impeach is that by showing they're willing to waste time, it shows they want to get stuff done? That by failing to do anything, it will prove how fit they are for office?

Hollow threats and empty gestures are why we're in this mess in the first place. The democrats pretended they'd protect abortion access for years - they shouted about it every chance they got, but never codified it into law, even when they had the house, senate, and presidency. They do this all the time. We don't need more puffery. We need to find people who can actually get work done, and weed out the ones who pretend.

Note that I haven't once said "don't hold people accountable." All I'm saying is don't waste time. They need to: Get work done. Get reelected. Charge people when they actually have the ability to convict and punish. They can be spiteful and petty, but it's pointless it they're not also smart. Otherwise, come next election cycle, people will just vote the republicans back in because the democrats "can't ever get anything done."

This is like Mamdani admitting he can't arrest Netanyahu and instead focusing on what he can actually do in NYC. He looked into it, realized he didn't have the ability, and turned his attention to housing, healthcare, etc. The difference is there's no reason to waste time looking into it - we already know the house/senate can't do anything.

Mamdani is a very funny example to bring up because he represents exactly the kind of new wave democrat politician I want to see more of. Mamdani is very good at signaling where his allegiances lie—I don't know why you think this disagrees with me.

The democrats pretended they'd protect abortion access for years - they shouted about it every chance they got,

Are you referring to Kamala "do what?" Harris or Joe "asleep at the wheel" Biden?

"Do what?" was actually Kamala's response to Roe v. wade being overturned, by the way.

I was actually thinking all the way back to Obama, but you're proving my point. Democrats have historically made a lot of noise about popular policies, but failed in spectacular fashion to implement much of anything. Impeaching Trump is the same thing. It's noise. Blustering. A rally call that will lead to nothing. Another "strongly worded letter."

Mamdani recognized what he could not do, and moved on to focus on what he could. It's why he's made actual change. It's what everyone else needs to do.

    Another "strongly worded letter."

    No, it's not.

We have not seen the kind of antagonism I want from Democrats. The fact that you keep trying to insuate that what I want is more of the same decade of Democrat politicking suggests either that you have no fucking idea what I'm asking for, or that you are hiding your power level.

My guy, your turn at the wheel is over now.

I want every democrat to be on camera, screaming into the microphone about the pedohpiles that have been raping our country to death, and that we are the bulwark that will bring them to heel, every hour of every day. And yes, I want them to actually do something about it. I want Trump in prison now.

You think the only thing I want is a show trial? Did your mom drop you as a baby?

You literally said you'd "take a show trial." And now you'd like them to "scream into microphones." So... you'd like them to make a lot of noise, but not actually get anything done. I'm not insinuating it, you are saying it.

I'd like people to be held accountable, too. But an impeachment won't do that. Getting popular policies passed, getting reelected, and ensuring the DOJ can do it's job is the only hope. But by all means, continue to throw tantrums and cross your fingers that'll matter.

You literally said you'd "take a show trial."

And I would, because I am a better advocate than you.

Getting popular policies passed, getting reelected, and ensuring the DOJ can do it's job is the only hope.

Why are you pretending they can't do both? What's in it for you, pretending that we can only do one or the other?

I'm not afraid of counting you among the traitors to this country, Joey. Your limp-wristed passivity I find disgusting. You are presently telling people the only effective protest is a polite one, but your dressing it up in this false veneer of pragmatism. It makes me want to vomit.

I know you're not as stupid as you pretend to be. I want you to know that you deserve to feel bad for what you're doing right now. Leave my fucking movement.

Trump has been impeached twice, and held accountable zero times. They didn't have the votes then, and they still don't. It's not about doing one thing vs two, it's about not wasting time and energy pretending they're trying to hold him accountable. They can't. Not right now, at least.

Continue to kick and scream. I'm sure you'll cause a real ruckus.

    Trump has been impeached twice,

Yes. And I'll reiterate, the antagonism I'm asking for has not yet been seen.

I want pedophile blood, Joey. And I want them to know I want it. I want them to know that as soon as the ropes break, their balls are being kept in a jar on my shelf. I want them to know that the only thing holding us back is this pretense of civility, law, and order.

You know why? Because this anger is something people can rally around. It doesn't stop with a show trial, Joey. It stops with these treasonous fucks licking water from a puddle under their gulag cot.

You disagree because you're not willing to riot. I am.
