My Dad (64), who was an adult by the time Jurassic Park came out, claims that dinosaurs aren't as popular as they were when he was a kid. What is he on about? Is this one of those cognitive biases?

Basically, that's about the time that scientists started learning that dinosaurs are more bird-like than lizard-like, so therefore way more active, and interesting to kids than lizards that just sits there.

The history of how the science influenced the art which influenced the science is really interesting.

I wasn't alive in the 60s, but it seems to me like dinosaurs are as popular as ever now. Dinosaur movies are being made, there's a Dinosaur animatronic park near where I live, my nephews dressed as dinosaurs for Halloween
