This looks like it'll be decided by just a handful of votes. Democratic challenger Scott Colom is ahead by 65 votes in the latest count in this Deep Red State.

I bet all the people that thought "my vote doesn't matter anyway, there's like a million people voting, my vote has no influence at all in the big picture" are feeling real great about themselves now.

Even if the Dem loses this, I think a race like this in Mississippi can really affect voter turnout in future elections. My bet is that there's quite a few Dem voters in those deep red states that just don't bother voting because they think it's futile. After a race like this there could come quite a bit of those out to vote when they see it's possible to actually tip states like this.

    I see this completely.

I'm in SC, and while we always vote in every election, I walked into the polling place yesterday feeling like I was doing my part, but that it wouldn't have any effect in SC.

Was very happy to wake up wrong this morning.

Absolutely! I don't think we would have the same blue tidal wave in Texas if not for previous runs from people like Beto O'Rourke, who showed how competitive Texas could be. Probably similar to the work of Stacy Abrams in Georgia.
