Paxton’s lawsuit claims that a get-out-the-vote advertisement campaign from Harris County’s office essentially constitutes reverse racism because it encouraged Black and Latino voters (groups with historically lower access to elections) to vote. Harris County is Texas’s most diverse county, notably housing Houston.

I was surprised by your comment because I only knew about Australia. It’s 21 countries, but not all enforce it:

Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, Fiji, Greece, Honduras, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, Nauru, North Korea, Paraguay, Peru, Samoa, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, Uruguay

Mexico looks a bit off there with compulsory voting and 52% turnout… but several countries have 90% or more turnout:

Australia, Belgium, Bolivia, Luxembourg, Nauru, North Korea, Samoa, Singapore, Uruguay

(I feel like north korea doesn’t really count though, and Nauru has 12k residents total)

North Koreans don't have to actually vote. Dear Leader is happy to handle that for them. Trump would like to implement a similar system in America.

Ankh-Morpork had dallied with many forms of government and had ended up with that form of democracy known as One Man, One Vote. The Patrician was the Man; he had the Vote.
