It's an AI image apparently

I don't doubt it's made with AI as all door camera images are, however, I would never trust another AI to tell me. The fact that it reports it as such makes me think that it isn't now.

i'm not sure but i think that detector might be detecting an openai-specific watermark which indicates that it was not a ring camera's slopification but actually a fake. or maybe the detector itself is fake and the image is real, who knows.

in any case, fuck this meme for normalizing ring cameras and acting like they're cool and ok - there are lots of reasonable ways to do video surveillance of your own home without sending all of the data to amazon and the cops and the various other private and government entities they share it with.

people with ring cameras should be shamed.

Yeah that’s how they work. All of the AI image generators watermark it. It’s extremely easy to detect with software.

That doesn’t mean a whole lot though because a LOT of stuff is just small edits using AI. Like removing any easily identifiable information (like removing license plates or addresses, etc) will throw the watermark on.

This is not a regular ai detection ai, which have the accuracy of you local fortune teller

This is a tool by openai that detects their synthID watermark, which is a noise pattern that is cryptographically encoded with a key that only openai has

It's possible that the image was just edited by openai, but given the simplicity of the image and the popularity of ring camera memes, I doubt it
