Yeah, in just a couple months the dog might not even have started showing their "normal" behaviour yet. Sometimes it takes a looong time before they get truly comfortable with the new environment, even if they seem to be doing just fine, and that naturally can affect the relationship they have with the owners. All relationships are different, and that applies to relationships with dogs too... Living together, and you both growing to learn each other's personalities and all, will likely change things over time.

If you felt, you do not like the dog at all, then giving up is a good thing, though, no matter what some people say. All dogs deserve a home where they are loved, and sometimes finding a better place for them, is the greatest act of love you can give.

  • I like the dog, but I feel sort of how I felt about my sister's dog when I took care of him for a couple of months while my sister traveled. I enjoyed having him around and we had fun together, but the thought of giving him back to my sister didn't upset me and I wasn't sad after I did. If somehow it turns out that my new dog ran away from a loving family and they found out that I had her, I don't think it would be difficult for me to give her back to them.
