Michigan Democrat Abdul El-Sayed’s former opponent in the U.S. Senate primary, Haley Stevens, stunned party officials Sunday by endorsing Republican Mike Rogers after Democratic tensions boiled over days before the election that could determine the balance of power on Capitol Hill.

Stevens endorsed Rogers after attending a Detroit church service with him. The remarkable show of support for Donald Trump’s backed candidate in the tightly contested race comes after she was uninvited to a joint event the same day with El-Sayed, who defeated the congresswoman by a slim margin in the August primary.

“Our Democratic nominee for Senate said I was no longer welcome in his campaign and that I should stay away,” Stevens said video announcing the endorsement. “And he’s right. And that’s why I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the United States Senate today.”

Democrats would rather dance with Nazis than back progressives in their own party

If Haley Stevens isn't going to vote blue no matter who why the hell should I?

This is how conservatives win. They prey on apathy.

Maybe Democrats should take a page from their playbook so they, you know, win

Yes and she is no longer a Democrat. She is being rebuked by everyone in the party. She has done the wrong thing, and everyone hates her. Well, except the genocide supporters.

Same. I was a lifelong independent but all blue ticket voter my whole life. Then republicans repealed Roe v Wade.

They drew a line in the sand and I'm on this side and they're over there so fuck them I registered as a Democrat my first chance after the repeal. Fuck conservatives and fuck pro-lifers.

They know how the saying goes, if they sit at that table with the Nazis, they're Nazis, and we'll remember that when the dust settles.

Nazis came in, and a third of the people did nothing when they sat down.

Non-voters are Nazis too, by that logic. Thanks for clarifying.

If they chose to not vote, yes. Not every non-voter chooses to not vote. Voter Disenfranchisement is a massive issue. Whether that's severely limiting voting locations, hours, mail-in options, etc. there are millions of people that aren't easily able to vote like they should and end up not voting as a result.

There is also the long game of under educating a large portion of the population so that many probably don't even realize that there is an election going on or, if they do, how to register or who the candidates are.
