I have a hard time believing that the left, eating their own, is a path back to power.

But you think that the right, sacrificing the left, is a way to get leftists in power? That doesn't seem to make much sense to me.

So those that participate in trashing the left or center, every time a politician does not deliver 100% of a wishlist ... must be either stupid, or elephants in donkey costumes.

Who said anything about 100% ? I'd be OK with a lot less, yet the Democrats can't even get that much.

What I've studied, is Democrats openly failing to deliver even the basics of what their voters want. Remember when "Genocide is bad", or "The economy is bad", or "Torture is bad" was on the ballot, and the Democratic leadership couldn't even stomach that little?

Or I suppose I can concede, you all far lefties are a separate faction, trying to make inroad to capture power over the rest of the left, as they see that is their only path to power.

So you think that supporting basic human rights, and equality for all is "far left"?

Still kinda dumb too, as while it may be the only play, it just wouldn’t happen, and is a waste of effort.

And yet you think that voting in support of genocidists, rapits, and fascists supporters, is not a wasted effort?

You want to threaten and use any leverage against the left to effect policy?

I also don't understand this. I'm trying to stop the coopting of the left by Democrats. How is supporting the coopting-of-the-left going to give the left more power?

    Racism... OP's post pic litterally says, "U.S. Senate candidates debate...", so this pertains to US politics. Hey also I patted my wife on the butt because she cooked me dinner tonight. Guess I'm a chauvinist..🤷

    You might wanna read the stats. Look up what the Democrats have done in each of their last 3 administrations and look up what the Republicans have done for their last 3, and tell us which you prefer.

    No, what I'm saying... Far lefties use the leverage of vote-threat, "we'll vote for someone else if you don't do what we want", often. Look how that worked out for Palistinian-Americans that voted for Trump because, "evil" Dems didn't immediately cut money to Israel. Measurably worse. Shot themselves in the foot. Jared Kushner is probably got a deal going to put a golf course on those dumb voters collective Palistinian family-homes as we speak.

    Coopting of what "left"? What "left" is it that you speak of that had power in the US? Your statement makes it sound like your trying saving some sacred civilization. But that never existed so, the fuck are you on about?
    The left IS the Dems as it currently stands in the USA, take it or leave it, and that's what you're working with if you want any measurable outcome. To say otherwise is living in fairyland.

    Stop trying to fracture the only shield you have on grounds of pedantry and idealism that cannot be achieved from this rung on the ladder. You have to get to the higher rung first before climbing higher.

    We're in a discussion about a right-wing party sacrificing their leftist voter-base to gain more right-wing votes. You seem to be advocating that will somehow get more power for the left.

    Democrats are driving away voters by running to the right. They could run on more left-leaning policies, which are highly popular. You are the one advocating that they keep moving away from what their voters want.

    You might wanna read the stats. Look up what the Democrats have done in each of their last 3 administrations and look up what the Republicans have done for their last 3, and tell us which you prefer.

    I have already done that. I even pointed out a lot of what they've done, but you decided to ignore that. Lets review other things that they did:

    • bombed kids
    • supported a rapist
    • made our healthcare more expensive, and lowered it's quality
    • destroyed our environment
    • bailed out their rich friends
    • increased mass deportations
    • increased torture programs

    And there's plenty more. Which of those should I be supportive of? Because they are pretty antithetical to what I want.

Those Palestinians would have been killed under Harris too, so I'm not sure how that's some kind of "gotcha".

    Vote-threat is how you leverage power. Look at what the strategy of "voting blue no matter who" has gotten us: Genocide and fascism. If the Democratic voters were willing to stop voting for fascism and genocide-supporters, and start leveraging that vote-threat, then we'd have a different party in power. One that wouldn't be supporting fascism and genocide.

    The protest voters didn't shoot themselves in the foot, the Democrats aimed the gun at their foot, so that the Republicans could pull the trigger.
