Its time for y'all to boycott Proton just like Mullvad. Everyone was gung ho about boycotting mullvad. Let's see the same happen for Proton.

The argument against proton is much stronger than against mullvad, which was a decision of the CEO using his own personal money with zero impact to the actual product other than public opinion. Though it's a lot more complicated to replace proton than just a vpn service.

Their CEO donated money to a political party that was not a good party to donate to essentially. A bunch of lemmenites started boycotting and leaving supposedly to Ivpn and others. Now Proton CEO has done something bad and it's time to boycott their giant honeypot. Everyone is always super ready to jump ship and bash.

Mullvad is likely the most reputable VPN provider available. I see no need to switch yet unless they really go AWOL. Proton has always been far more honeypot-ish to me over the years. Though I know heavy organizations that use it, so there is that side of the view as well.

that's... mild. and doesn't really have to do anything with mullvad itself (i am assuming here it was his own money, not mullvad funds). yeah, if people really wanted to boycott because of that then they should doubly boycott proton as well.

Like 2 months ago or so it was a major event online. Everyone is so fast to judge, jump ship, and cast shade to. I'm suprised these people get anything done as often as they must switch services in today's landscape.

here, what the proton CEO is saying does concern the company itself, so it is a warning sign that things may get worse in the future.

this isn't something i would immediately delete my account over, especially since i still have 2 years of VPN subscription left, and it's still better than anything google; but i'll hold off into putting more eggs into their basket, and see how it is after those credits run out.
