Awesome, thanks for the recommendations... I have never heard of any of those bands!

Just now wanted to add, this comment lists some Arabic-style blues/rock bands, I'm yet to give them a proper listen but they might fit here too.

I might make a dump of assorted ‘world music’ sometime: e.g. Tabla Beat Science made Indian/Pakistani-style music with jazzy fusion. YĪN YĪN and Khruangbin are known for Asian influences in instrumental psychedelic rock. Natacha Atlas did some downtempoey music with Egyptian elements.

Did not know Yin Yin but on first listen seems like something I'll like.
I think I got lucky with Khruangbin because I caught their first record when it was released and love it. Glass Beams is pure delight. I think we're missing Altin Gun in this thread

Khruangbin are definitely much better known than YĪN YĪN, which is unfortunate. Perhaps I should post some of the latter band's performances.

I only recently discovered that Anatolian rock is a whole genre — of which Altın Gün were pioneering prophets in the West, and Derya Yıldırım & Grup Şimşek are a great example. So I'm gonna do a dive, particularly into older bands, and probably post some finds here.
