I love the memes that pour out of [hostile community 1] and [hostile community 2], but inevitably when I participate in the comments under their posts, I'm bombarded with accusations of "trolling," "imperialist apologia," "racism," etc. because I disagree with some aspects of the the hyper-auth-left.

I just want a community that makes me laugh "hehe, that's a good point about that problem with the US" that isn't overrun with people doing mental gymnastics to paint anything I say as the worst thing anyone's ever said in the history of the internet and recreationally banning me for it.

Does such a place exist on the Fediverse (yet)?

WTF is the "hyper-auth-left"?

    Stalinists, Maoists, etc.

Hyper means "over," "above," etc. I think it's Greek in origin?

"Auth" is short for "authoritarian," meaning those who lean towards "a good society is one with stricter enforcement of laws," as opposed to "libertarian" philosophies, generally meaning those who think people should be left alone more often than not.

Left is the political "left," generally proposing a "managed economy" or "regulations on businesses," as opposed to the "right" which often values Laissez-faire capitalism.

Hyper-auth-left people believe that the best society is one where a vanguard party (often led by an autocrat) destroys capitalism, capitalists, and often anything that even remotely resembles either (examples of the latter including academics, people who wear glasses, and Jewish people), usually violently.

Most people just call them "tankies."

Most people just call them “tankies.”

Tankie is a pejorative for people who are too stupid to realize that North Korea isnt communist as far as I know.

I think I described them better, but you're welcome to carve out your own definition.

    I mean, you said.

Left is the political “left,” generally proposing a “managed economy” or “regulations on businesses,” as opposed to the “right” which often values Laissez-faire capitalism.

    Which is just hilariously wrong.

So im not sure how much stock to put in the rest of what you said

As the post was recently un-removed (shout-out to the mod team here), we can continue the discussion here if you'd like:

Your position is more or less that I am so terribly wrong that you're not going to bother educating me, correct?

For the record I'm not trying to pester/harass/troll you as you suggested via DMs - I'd just rather move the conversation here. Feel free to screenshot the entire thing and put it in a reply for transparency and posterity's sake. Or don't reply if you're positive I'm a troll; that's fine too.
