Not sure what gas stoves normally cost because I'm a filthy renting plebian, but I spent more getting my 13-year-old base model civic rolling again after it sat for a few years.

Shit I've seen people living paycheck to paycheck spend more on a god-damned laptop than you would that stove.

Like yeah its a lotta money, but if your buying the thing that's going to cook most of your meals for the next 15-20 years, especially one that needs extra safety systems for how dangerous its fuel is, yeah a grand seems fair.
