Why do people discuss movie or comic books logic? (lemmy.world)

I often come across posts where people are discussing the logic of a movie or comic book. An example could be Star Wars, where they discuss how a light saber works. Or which superheroes would win in a fight against each other. To me, it seems pointless to discuss such things as it is fiction. Just an insight into someone else's imagination.

    Why have fun? :) Actually that's fair, I hope the answers you are getting provide some insight and aspects to consider.

    In a way, what you are doing asking why people would discuss such topics, is not too far as an idea from someone asking why one superhero would win against another or how a lightsaber would work against some fictional material. It is about sharing and discussing ideas that are or can be interesting.
