I just want certain things to work and I'm willing to pay the price for it 😮💨

Everything else yes. permalink fedilink source hideshow 7 child comments replies: [–] davel@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 month ago (4 children) Why not torrents over a VPN, if you have bandwidth to burn? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] cyberpunk007@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 month ago No VPN here. I'm currently seeding 211 torrents. 🤷 permalink fedilink source parent [–] lepinkainen@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago* (2 children) I trust my VPS provider more than a VPN. And I want a VPN primarily for privacy, not massive p2p bandwidth or the ability to circumvent geographical restrictions. Also my seedbox can run 24/7 with the bandwidth capped and it doesn’t have any effect on my life. If my home internet is uploading at full speed, streaming services start to stutter and that’s annoying. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] umbrella@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 month ago (1 child) not hating on a VPS for torrenting, but you fix that stutter by properly setting up priorities and bandwidth limits in your firewall. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] lepinkainen@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago If I had a symmetrical connection, I would do that.
