There are both pros and cons to either, PC gaming for starters is expensive considering today's economic landscape considering handheld PC's a cheaper alternative. Console gaming (Switch, XBOX, PS) cost less than a full desktop PC (let alone a gaming laptop), there are consoles for indoor use only (PS5) and portable / hybrid (like the Switch). Each format has exclusive titles.

Mostly PC but consoles seem easier when you're hanging out at someone's house and playing split screen. I'm sure a PC could be used for this but nobody I hang out with has their's connected to their TV.
